Box-Making Machine Replacement
National Records of Scotland (NRS) is seeking to procure the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and training of a replacement box-making machine, together with associated software, warranty, maintenance and support services. The replacement machine is required to replace existing end-of-life equipment and support the continued in-house manufacture of archival storage boxes and preservation packaging used to protect and preserve archive collections. The contract will support NRS's ongoing boxing programme and future collection move activities while improving operational reliability and reducing the risk of service disruption. The scope of the contract includes the provision of a box-cutting machine capable of cutting, scoring, creasing and processing archival materials used in the production of archival-quality storage boxes and preservation packaging. The successful supplier will be responsible for delivery, installation, commissioning, testing, operator training and the provision of all associated software, tooling and equipment necessary for operation. The contract will also include warranty, preventative maintenance, software support, technical support and the provision of replacement parts and consumables support arrangements to ensure the ongoing operation and longevity of the solution. Full details of the technical, operational and service requirements are set out within the procurement documentation. The contract will be awarded to a single supplier responsible for the successful delivery, implementation and support of the complete solution.
