Evidence reviews and preparation of Evidence to Decision Frameworks
The Disease Prevention Unit of the European Commission’s (EC) Joint Research Centre has been assigned with tasks in the field of cancer prevention and rare diseases that include the development of new European guidelines and quality assurance schemes for the six most prevalent cancer sites (breast, cervical, colorectal, gastric, lung and prostate cancer) representing over 50% of the cancer burden in the European Union. The purpose of this procurement is to provide continuity for the collection, analysis and assessment of the underpinning evidence informing the EC initiatives, following a uniform methodological framework. The purpose of Lot 1 is to perform mapping exercises (e.g. background or scoping reviews, identification of existing guidelines) and evidence reviews, including systematic reviews, synthesis and critically appraisal of evidence, and definition of Evidence to Decision frameworks (EtDs) for the development and update of guideline recommendations, with emphasis, but not exclusively, on breast, colorectal, cervical and lung cancer.
