NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board is publishing this notice as confirmation of an award having been made due to an urgent circumstance which best mitigates any risks to care and safety of the patient to Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Intervention Centre (OHSPIC). A contract has been awarded following an urgent award process in accordance with Regulation 13 of The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for the provision of Severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Dermoatillomania treatment service for BSW ICB patients.

NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board is publishing this notice as confirmation of an award having been made due to an urgent circumstance which best mitigates any risks to care and safety of the patient to Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Intervention Centre (OHSPIC). The individual placement is required as the person presents with OCD and dermoatillomania at level of complexity and severity unresponsive to the usual NHS psychological and/or psychiatric treatment approaches and requires highly skilled and specialist treatment provision. Currently commissioned services have acknowledged that they do not have the specialists within their services to effectively to provide treatment. Intervention at this stage due to the severe life limiting impact on their mental health, they would benefit from receiving specialised treatment so the OCD and dermoatillomania is prevented from becoming an ongoing and chronic difficulty. There is a high risk if the symptoms of remain unsuccessfully treated, the quality of life will deteriorate further. Working with a specialist team who are skilled in working with these levels of complexity and severity as well as overcoming such barriers should enable the patient to progress towards a recovery. The proposed treatment is NICE recommended therapy delivered by specialists in treating severe and complex OCD. A Treatment plan for Severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder has been agreed that includes (but not limited to) • Assessment to confirm recommended treatment pathway approach and anticipated length of treatment required. • Close liaison with local services and CMHT will be involved during treatment and once the treatment is completed, continued work will be undertaken and monitored through the CMHT. A contract has been awarded following an urgent award process in accordance with Regulation 13 of The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 This advert has been published by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioners.
