This project involves upgrading and restructuring the water supply infrastructure in the Townawilly area. The aim is to improve water quality, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and deliver a more efficient and reliable water network. The contract includes the design and construction of an interconnector water main to connect the existing scheme to the Public Water Supply Scheme (PWSS) operated by Uisce Éireann (UÉ), which will allow for the decommissioning of the Townawilly Group Water Scheme (GWS) Water Treatment Plant. The contract also involves key upgrades to UÉ infrastructure, including construction of new watermain connections and a new booster pump station (PS) at the Glencoagh Storage Reservoir (SR) site to serve both the Glencoagh and Eddrim Glebe networks. Additionally, the Eddrim Glebe PS will be upgraded with new pumps and a change in the pumping arrangement.
