10041825 - Supporting GIZ in the development of Green Climate Fund Concept Notes and Funding Proposals for up to three projects
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise supporting the German Government in international cooperation for sustainable development and international education. GIZ is accredited by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) as an International Accredited Entity and develops and implements GCF-funded projects in close coordination with National Designated Authorities and other national stakeholders. GIZ is expanding its GCF project portfolio and pipeline. Potential areas include multi-hazard early warning systems in Montenegro and North Macedonia; rice and livestock in Southeast Asia; and water in the Middle East. The pipeline may evolve, and additional countries and themes may be included. The assignment will support up to three current or future GIZ project development processes (PDPs) at different stages of development and potentially under either the GCF Project Approval Process or Simplified Approval Process. The specific PDPs will be agreed jointly at the inception of the assignment. The work will primarily contribute to GCF project-cycle stages #3 (concept note submission and screening), #4 (funding proposal development), and #5 (funding proposal appraisal). The contractor will develop up to three concept notes and up to three funding proposals in line with current GCF requirements and GIZ instructions. Services include reviewing project documentation and related assessments, providing technical inputs and quality assurance, and addressing feedback from the GCF Secretariat and, for funding proposals, iTAP. GIZ will manage formal submissions and communications with the GCF and iTAP.
