The University of Edinburgh is seeking to award Oxford Instruments the contract for the purchase of a 2D Materials Processing Suite to establish a new research capability within the University's cleanroom, enabling the growth and processing of atomically thin materials, including graphene, molybdenum disulphide (MoS₂), tungsten disulphide (WS₂) and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). The suite requires two complementary systems: a plasma-assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) system for growing these materials, and an Ion Beam Etching (IBE) system for precisely removing selected areas of material to produce functional devices.
