Scottish Water is currently developing its future approach to temporary power solutions. As part of this work, we are seeking to better understand the market for battery-powered temporary power solutions, including supplier capabilities and the availability of both hire and purchase models. Previous market engagement has already established that a range of battery, hybrid and solar-assisted technologies exist within the market. Scottish Water is now seeking practical insight from suppliers with experience deploying battery-powered, hybrid and solar-assisted temporary power solutions across construction, utilities, and infrastructure projects. This work supports Scottish Water's ambitions around Beyond Net Zero, Service Excellence and Great Value & Financial Sustainability, and looks to better understand the role battery-powered temporary power solutions may play in supporting these ambitions. This engagement is intended to inform Scottish Water's understanding of the market and any future approach to temporary power solutions.

Scottish Water is particularly interested in information related to: • Where battery-powered solutions have been deployed and the applications they were used for. • The operational performance of battery-powered, hybrid and solar-assisted solutions. • The realised financial, operational and environmental benefits when compared to traditional diesel/HVO generators. • Any limitations, constraints or challenges that were encountered. • Situations where there was a difference in suitability between purely battery-powered solutions and hybrid solutions. • Current plans to increase transition to low-carbon temporary power solutions. • Any emerging or alternative low-carbon temporary power technologies currently being deployed or considered.
