What Would It Take? Community Support for Children Affected by Disabilities
As part of our What Would It Take Children's Services 5 Year Plan, West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership is keen to develop community based support for children and young people with disabilities and their families. We have made a Promise to listen to families' views and experiences and these will be integral to the development of the service. We are seeking to engage with experienced and creative provider organisations to help shape a needs led and adaptable service that supports children and young people at home and within their communities through an evidence based whole family approach. We would like to invite interested providers to attend a consultation and market engagement event on Tuesday 28 July 2026 at the HSCP Offices, 16 Church Street, Dumbarton, G82 1QL. The purpose of the event is to share our plans to date and learn from providers' expertise and experience to help shape a resilient and inclusive service. The future service will seek to support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes through individualised support, community based opportunities and enjoyable activities tailored to their needs and interests. The anticipated service will support children and young people affected by disabilities and their families and will be delivered in line with GIRFEC principles and The Promise
