Adult ADHD Neurodevelopmental Practitioner Service
The service will provide a needs-led, primary care-based assessment and support model for adults presenting with possible Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and related neurodevelopmental difficulties. As an integrated component of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust's (HTFT) wider Adult ADHD pathway, the service will support earlier intervention, improve access to care, reduce waiting times, and enhance patient experience. The long-term ambition is to expand the service to include adults with suspected Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The provider will deliver Neurodevelopmental Practitioner capacity across Hull and East Riding Primary Care Networks (PCNs) or Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs), initially operating within two selected localities. Practitioners will undertake comprehensive needs-led assessments using a structured profiling approach and work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop personalised support plans and facilitate appropriate signposting for individuals with suspected ADHD who have been returned to primary care pathways. While the service will not undertake formal ADHD diagnostic assessments, it will gather relevant clinical information and evidence to support onward referral and specialist diagnostic assessment where required.
