Royal Hospital for Children Money and Debt Advice Service
The service will operate from the RHC and target families whose child is in hospital or who are regularly attending outpatients at the RHC or are unable to access community services due to their child’s diagnosis/condition/caring responsibilities or inpatient stay, and as such deliver to families within NHSGGC and throughout Scotland. It will aim to support families experiencing financial issues to maximise income, reduce household expenditure and debt alleviate money worries. The service is co-located with the Family Support and Information Service (FSIS) within the RHC and the relationship between the two services is crucial both in the referral of vulnerable families from the FSIS to the Money Advice Service but also from the service to FSIS. Access to, and promotion of, the service will be facilitated by the successful bidder, together with Health Improvement Teams to Acute Health Services. Consideration on how best to target groups who are most vulnerable is required, in discussion with NHSGGC. The Service onward refers to relevant partner organisations and wider voluntary sector organisations that work with NHSGGC to support families.
