HPE Aruba Wireless Access Points
The University intends to modernise its wireless network infrastructure through the procurement of HPE Aruba wireless access points (WAPs). This investment will support the University's ongoing digital transformation and ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across all campuses. This procurement aligns with the University's IT strategy to deliver scalable and resilient wireless services for staff, students, and visitors, supporting academic, research, and operational activities. The proposed solution will also enable future developments, including IoT integration, supporting initiatives such as smart buildings, robotics laboratories, and wayfinding systems. It will form a foundational layer for campus-wide connectivity. HPE Aruba WAPs provide industry-standard capabilities, including Wi-Fi 6/6E technology, advanced security features, and centralised network management, ensuring a future-ready solution. The scope of this project includes: Supply and delivery of wireless access points Provision of management and orchestration components Installation and commissioning services Associated professional services (e.g. capacity planning and site surveying) Ongoing technical support The goods and services are intrinsically linked, as the performance of the wireless network depends on both the hardware and its configuration and support. Accordingly, the contract is primarily for the provision of goods, with essential supporting services to ensure full operational functionality.
