Establish a multi-layer acquisition solutions for different types of vehicles and the related equipment, consumables and/or maintenance (optional). Frontex aims to establish one framework contract per lot to purchase vehicles for Frontex operational activities. The procedure is divided into four (4) lots: Lot 1 - off road vehicles; Lot 2 - Mid-size Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs); Lot 3 - Passenger transportation vans; Lot 4 - EV Passenger transportation vans. Frontex will use the vehicles in its operational activities:
- for the transport of five fully equipped border guard officers in each vehicle (off-road and SUVs),
- to support the Agency’s return activities, including the transportation of returnees from detention centres to airports or other departure points, in line with Article 48 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1896 (passenger transportation vans),
- in different climate/regions: from Arctic to Mediterranean (alongside all external EU borders),
as follows: i) the off-road vehicles – in rough terrain (i.e., driving on unsurfaced roads or tracks, such as sand, gravel, riverbeds, mud, snow, rocks, and other natural terrain). ii) the SUVs vehicles/passenger transportation vans/EV passenger transportation vans – mainly on paved roads, with the possibility to access for limited period of time unsurfaced roads or tracks, such as sand, gravel, riverbeds, mud, snow, rocks, and other natural terrain.
The overall duration of the FWC shall be limited to 4 (four) years.
