South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) are notifying the market of a potential market opportunity for a supplier to deliver a fully managed, end-to-end IT service for the Mountainbike Innovation Centre (MTBIC) facility. This is to include the design, supply, installation, configuration, and ongoing support and operation of all IT equipment, network infrastructure, and associated services. The MTBIC is a new build, being built in partnership with Hub South East. Morrisons are the main contractor. The appointed supplier will need to source, provide and install all required equipment per an IT matrix that has been produced and will be issued as part of the tender documentation. They will also need to provide a managed service provision to the tenants and SOSE within the building. Key requirements will likely include but will not be limited to: - Full Wi-Fi network, both internal and external - EDUROM Network - Ability for segregation of network to tenants - Ability to link into fire alarm and CCTV systems where appropriate - Managed service provision - Ability to live stream from the building - Potential for 100 concurrent users at select times - IT security compliant with relevant statutory requirements - Managed and maintained equipment - Service desk provision SOSE will require a comprehensive service, from inception to completion. The MTBIC is a brand new building, and the contractor will provide the cable routes and CAT install but SOSE is required to undertake all other aspects. Any infrastructure required e.g. WAPs, cabinets will need to be costed and provided for as part of this tender. SOSE will not be seeking discrete components or partial delivery — the requirement is for a single, fully managed service covering all IT and network requirements for the building. The purpose of the MTBIC is to provide workshop space to companies interested in developing new and exciting technology, hot desk space and office space, events space both internal and external. This is to be a hub out of which businesses will operate.
