St Vincent's University Hospital (SVUH) owns and operates a number of Single and Double-Chamber Automated Endoscope Preprocessors (AER), such as WD440-PT among others. The AERs have been supplied under framework agreements (FA) and dynamic purchasing systems (DPS) managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE), namely and most recently HSE ref. 20288 for the "Supply and Installation of Endoscopic Decontamination Equipment and its Support and Maintenance". Apart from hardware and continuous comprehensive maintenance, which are provided under the call-off agreements mentioned above, SVUH requires in addition a series of consumables for the full functioning of the systems. These products (process chemicals i.e. detergent combined with peracetic acid or glutaraldehyde, bacterial filters and other items) are not available under the arrangements specified earlier. At the same time, essential technical compatibility requirements and integrated safety systems require the user to source consumables from the exclusive providers of these items, i.e. Wassenburg Ireland Ltd, Wassenburg Ltd or Wassenburg Medical B.V, who manufacture and directly supply them.
