Cloud Voice SIP Service & Channel Connection
The Digital and Health Intelligence (D&HI) Department require the continued provision of a Cloud Voice SIP Service and Channel Connection as part of the delivery of their core services. The existing solution was originally implemented to replace legacy telephony infrastructure (over 30 years old) as part of the national PSTN switch-off programme, transitioning to resilient, internet-based circuits that provide enhanced reliability, flexibility, and manageability. The current contract was awarded via a Direct Award under the RM3808 Network Services 2 Framework, following a benchmarking exercise which identified a limited number of suppliers capable of meeting the Health Board’s technical and resilience requirements. BT PLC was appointed as the successful supplier, offering the most economically advantageous solution while maintaining independent network infrastructure. In line with the original procurement strategy, it remains a key requirement for the Health Board to maintain resilience across its telephony services by avoiding reliance on a single network provider, with other services continuing to be delivered via Virgin Media Business. The existing contract is due to expire on 31st March 2026. As these services remain business-critical and underpin the Health Board’s telephony infrastructure, there is a requirement to ensure continuity of service and ongoing support. The renewed contract will ensure continued delivery of a stable, resilient telephony solution, aligned with operational needs and national infrastructure changes
