Construction of new Infant and Junior Play Parks, Aisby Walk
The Contractor is to include for and undertake all necessary surveys, prepare all designs and specifications and carry out all works necessary to complete the development. The current area of the existing infant play park is circa 320m2 and the area of the junior play park is circa 525m2. It is proposed that the new infant play park is relocated to sit adjacent to the junior play park. Some of the play equipment could be removed and refurbished but there is an allowance for new play park equipment. The works will be undertaken as Permitted Development, due to this the design must not exceed 4 meters in height or 200 cubic meters in capacity. The Contractor is to ensure that all work is in accordance with the Drawings and Documents (and such further drawings and documents as the project dictates and as shall from time to time during the contract become necessary) so that on completion the development can be used for its intended use(s). The Contractor is to ensure that the development is completed by the Completion Date indicated in the Letter of Acceptance and is presented in a good and clean condition. The outcome of this Tender is to select a single Contractor to undertake the project from consultation to final design and construction of new infant and junior play parks to suit the needs of Gainsborough Town Council and the community. The appointed Contractor will be required to engage with Gainsborough Town Council and may be involved in engaging with a Focused Community Group and children at three local schools. This will include them to present their design and engage with the groups to enhance their design as required to fulfil the requirements and complete the final design. Gainsborough Town Council does not wish to dictate a single solution. Contractor's are invited to propose a design that best addresses the Council's objectives and the community's needs for the site. The design should be a hub for activity with a core provision for providing a safe place to play. Creativity and originality are encouraged for the Contractor to provide an impartial and informed solution, based on their experience and expertise. The Contractor is to outline previous examples of similar work, evidencing skills, Health & Safety procedures, experience collaborating with Councils and Focus Groups. The Contractor must also provide examples of projects that they have undertaken from concept to handover within budget. The Contractor must incorporate within their design the requirement for zero/minimal maintenance. Through consultation, the community have expressed an interest in the following for the infant and junior play parks.
